Roger arrived to the survey on time, as scheduled. We had discussed the boat earlier and that helped Roger prepare. He began his work with me in attendance. He had several cogent observations about the boat as his work progressed. He also had a few questions, most of which I was able to answer. He explored every inch of the boat, taking many pictures to record his observations. He had a couple of safety-related recommendations, which I appreciated. Partially relying on Roger's experience and his positive observations, we decided to purchase this boat.

The actual report was somewhat delayed due to Roger's workload but otherwise we are well-pleased with his professionalism and service.

I hired Roger W. of P.R. Marine Surveyors to look at a boat for me in Pender Harbour. Being located on the Island it's not a fast and easy trip to get over to the mainland to view something. Roger was my eyes and ears and in this particular case he provided almost 300 very detailed photographs of the boat, motor, trailer, electrical, bilge and pretty much everywhere he could fit his camera. The photos were very helpful in my purchase decision. I am happy to recommend Roger as a Marine Surveyor to anyone looking to buy a boat on the Sunshine Coast, especially if you're from out of town. Do your due diligence and ask some questions from your surveyors before you hire one. They are all different and are very subjective. They also wield a lot of power over you. I have had my boat since 1994 and it is a 1981 model. PR Marine Surveyors had done every survey when required and I had always been happy. The boat has only been upgraded since those times. Then the owner unfortunately passed away and Roger took over. He found a few small things wrong which isn't a problem, cheap and easy to fix. But he also in his opinion thinks that this 38 year old boat should conform to 2019 standards in some areas which would be expensive and very hard to rectify without major renovations. I totally disagree and if I had to find a surveyor again I would not pick this company.

Roger was great. He was professional and personable. He gave me a rundown on what to expect from him, and he followed up exactly. It helps that the boat was beautiful and nearly perfect, but he was still very thorough and took nothing for granted. I was the broker on this survey, and he communicated very will with me and my clients. I'd use him again.

I will never use this company again. He took over 5 weeks to return the survey. He pointed out deficiencies that weren’t even real issues upon further investigation. He even made some strange remarks to me during the survey that I found very unprofessional.
