Sep 2024. There is both good and bad news. Bad news is that if you are in a rush, don’t bother. It’s not a quick buying process. You have to have an employee get the ammo for you because it’s behind a little gated area. Also, there was a break in a month ago, so the doors are all boarded up. You have to use the shooting range entrance, which is on the other side of the building around the block with no real parking options in a sketchy area. I would think they could come up with a better solution in a more timely manner. Or, just fix the entrance.

The good is that there is a range next door, and usually a good selection of ammo. Prices aren’t great, but they aren’t anywhere else either.

If and when they fix the parking/entrance issue, I might return. Otherwise I’m currently spending my $ elsewhere.

I purchased 1000 reload rounds a year ago and had plenty of surplus stocked up from LAX Ammo. And out of this batch of 1000 rounds I probably had 75 rounds that were not crimped correctly on the brass at the bullet end and kept jamming in my barrel. I was at my local gun range and had to have a gunsmith get the round out. It was so jammed in. I then brought this to LAXs attention and they told me I had 90 days to report defective material. Well unfortunately I hadn’t shot through that batch during the 90 day period. And now I’m stuck with a whole bunch of ammo that is not safe to use. It needs to be destroyed. LAX is going to lose a loyal customer over 75 rounds. I sent a video and pictures of the batches and everything confirming my issue, please don’t use LAX Ammo.

Been meaning to put a post about this company for a while. I’m waiting for a flight to Europe, so I made it as well put my two cents in on this company… first off I will say the ammo was decent. It seems to function well however when I got to the establishment, I was greeted at the door. I see your ID. Before entering the place. Assuming that I wanted to buy something I did, but the assumption is put off putting he hands me a bullet point list of what he has in stock, I give him my ID. He asks me is that where your guns are I told him it’s not your Business to know where my guns are, but I will know if something ever happens, I will mention this establishment and the time I was here that you asked. Secondly I entered purchased thousand rounds of 556 and got 223 45 ACP and then I asked do you have 303 British! I had to ask the guy three times wasn’t paying attention too busy on his iPhone sitting there! He looks over to an older gentleman and says where is the 303 old blue gentleman says which one 303 what do you think? Well, he said 303 British younger guys says oh OK.
Younger says we don’t have that! Alder employee says yes, we do it’s over there and then there was some sarcastic behavior back-and-forth!
Totally ridiculous and unprofessional in front of customers not to mention this kid did not respect his coworker, I get to the till the guy literally gives me his account miscounts and charges me less for the 566 !
I tell him dude you missed your account. You’re giving me 500 too little the bill, higher 556.
He checks his work and says oh yeah, my bad wow what a package jackass is I thought me being honest I thought honestly I never wanna deal with them again!
The only thing I can say about this is that their product works well, but not at much of a discount to be honest with you!
Customer service it’s a complete F

Update the next day. I got a response from the owner of LAX gun range.
Regarding identification when you walk into the door, stating that in regards to asking about where you put your weapons? it’s a gun! Not a ( weapon ) so the preconceived wrongly judged that it’s being called a weapon, that’s a preconceived notion that I will use it as a ? but you have not purchased anything yet! Another thing is that I own more than one property so what are you to say being seriously? I have more than one property. And No, California law does not require you to tell where you store your ( GUN ) when you buy ammunition.
And if I'm wrong cite it by the Ca DOJ
But calling a gun a weapon seriously! Have some respect for other people.

There prices are high the staff is kinda of rude there prices online or only for out of state and won't match them in store there range is ok but they will charge you for everything with ammo being fairly expensive they charge you for safety glasses and earmuffs they charge a setup lane fee which idk what that is if you bring a rifle or shotgun the lanes cost more half there staff is rude other half seems chill there ventilation
for the range is a joke overall the experience there is pretty bad there better and cheaper ranges out there that let you take your own ammo for any gun and lanes are cheaper without all the extra charges

3000 rounds 9mm and 1000 rounds .45 ACP FMJ all function and shoot straight. All 21 of my pistols from different manufacturers eat the ammo fine. The ammo is a little dirty so some fireballs were coming out of my Glocks and FN 545 lol So wipe them down. Shooting it through a comp (either ammo) was like dragons breath sometimes. No issues but a little spooky but not really problematic unless in low light. Maybe out of 1000 rounds I find a couple that are over seated which were not shot…most of the time… but you will find this no matter the manufacturer. Some rounds felt underpowered compared to others screwing with the recoil cadence and return to 0 but not bad. Pretty accurate at 25 yards. I mean it’s great ammo for the price for sure. I recommend giving these fellas a try. Great customer service.

Now Remington Range ammo I will not buy anymore. Can’t hit anything beyond 7 yards, underpowered, jammed and locked up my Glocks and the bullets tumbled out of a VP9.

Fast and helpful staff, always have some kind of stick that you need. Waits may be long on Saturday but beat the lunch rush on weekdays and you are sure to get in and out in less than twenty minutes. Also, sign-up to get their emails for great savings and sale events like their parking lot sale.

First time buyer from them - very disappointed in the level of packaging security.

Other companies use thick security tape and often more than one strip that is challenging to open. LAX sent my 1000rd case with one very thin piece of packaging tape that I opened by sliding my hand under the edge of the box. They also aren’t discrete with their shipping name so this could have easily been stolen or broken into. I guess it makes the shipping insurance worth it.

Hey but at least they have cool ammo cans that came instead of boxes.

There is good and bad. The good is that their prices are good, and they have a large inventory. Service was also fine, I had no issues and was in an out very quickly on a weekday. The bad is the website. I was told by the staff onsite that the deals offered online are only for out of state, not in state. This is a bit misleading as I did not see any disclaimer about this on their site. I would recommend they make this more transparent to customers.
